Oral surgery – is a large field that includes a wide range of different problems that can appear in the mouth.  Most of them are correlated to the teeth, but some troubles can occupy the jaw or the gums.

 List of general problems that are healed by oral surgery:

a) Loss of tooth: if a patient loses a tooth on account for disease or injury, a dentist put an implant into his mouth - it is more naturally looking substitution of lost tooth.  Such dental implant must be fixed to the jawbone for providing steadiness and one more term - the patients must be healthy, disinfected and have good solidity of bones.

b) Tightly pressed teeth: these cases are related to the wisdom teeth that come out in a quite developed mouth.  Impacted teeth are the consequence of decreased space in the jaw for these outsized molars. The wisdom teeth can come into the gum tissue because of their developing; this may provoke swelling and bleeding, and as a result patient can feel some pain.  Impacted teeth can alter your bite and add some density.  If such symptoms take place, your dentist will advise you to pull out these teeth because they can cause many health problems.

 c) Jaw adjustment: your upper and lower jaw can not succeed to make straight properly during your grows. That can create a lot of problems with speaking, chewing, swallowing, and breathing. Some of these alignments can be fixed with brackets but the most serious cases involve surgical operation in changing the position of the jaws. 

 d) Temporomandibular joint: this is the junction in front of the ear where the lower jaw pivots. This common problem area that can cause headache and sharp pain.  Some cases can be approved with medication, therapy, and splints.  But more severe cases would require rebuilding of the joint.

e) Dentures: people who miss their teeth frequently choose dentures instead of implants.  However, some pre-emptive surgery may be compulsory to make space for the dentures to fit correctly.
