Technique Variations
This technique of liposuction is applied towards all patients who decided to undertake this procedure. After the procedure has been developed and advanced, several variations have been introduced.

Nowadays among all of the surgeries is commonly used fluid injection - a procedure in which a medical solution is injected into fatty spot before the fat is demolished. The fluid is a mixture of intravenous salt solutions such as lidocaine (a local anesthetic and epinephrine) - a preparation that bonds blood vessels. These solutions help to get rid of fat without difficulties, simultaneously reduce blood loss and provides anesthesia during and after surgery. Besides fluid injection is also help to reduce the dozen of bruising.

Large volumes of fluid, sometimes twice more than the amount of fat to be removed, are inserting in the tumescent technique. Tumescent liposuction on average performed on patients who require only a local anesthetic. Usually it takes significantly longer time than traditional liposuction (at times as long as 4 to 5 hours). However, as the injected fluid contains a sufficient amount of anesthetic, additional anesthesia may not be compulsory. The name of this technique refers to the swollen and firm or "tumesced" state of the fatty tissues when they are filled with solution.

This technique is similar to the tumescent technique, with the exception of the fact that lesser amounts of fluid are used. Generally the amount of fluid injected is equivalent to the amount of fat to be removed. This technique often requires 4 sedations or general anesthesia and typically takes one to two hours of surgery time.

The following Ultrasound-Assisted Lipoplasty (UAL) technique requires the use of a special cannula that generates ultrasonic energy. The energy as it passes through the areas of fat explodes the walls of the fat cells turning fat to liquid. The fat is then removed with the traditional liposuction technique.

UAL has been discovered to improve the simplicity and effectiveness of liposuction in fibrous areas of the body, such as the upper back or the enlarged male breast. It is also frequently used in secondary procedures, when enhanced correctness is needed. Generally, UAL takes longer time to perform than traditional liposuction.
